Team Role: Mechanical Team, Website Developer
Major: Computer Science
School Year: Recent graduate
Hometown: Woodbridge, CA
Birthday: September 10, 1987

What are 2 of the best qualities you bring to the team?
I am persistent and I strive for perfection. I always stick with a problem until I have solved it, and I try to exceed my expectations in everything I do. With these two qualities I feel that I help our team break boundaries and succeed.

What is your role during the race?
I will help the car pass through scrutineering through my knowledge of the mechanical systems. Also, if anything mechanical needs to get fixed during the race, I will be one of the team members working on the side of the road or at night to get the car working again. Although I am forced to complete most of the website before the race (little internet availability in the Outback), I will be trying to update it with pictures and content as often as I can.

What else do you do for the team when you are not racing?
I have to update and maintain the mechanical components of our car. I have created many of the smaller parts of our car on our lathe and milling machine at school. The main areas of the car that I have worked on include steering, brakes, suspension, and fairings. When I am not working on the car itself, I am developing and updating our website.

What is one hobby that you have?
I really love solving puzzles (not jigsaw). Whether it be a metal contraption or a board game that requires me to think, I like to figure things out and problem solve. That is also probably why I love solar car, because we solve problems every day.
