What are 2 of the best qualities you bring to the team?
I'm hardworking and I like to think I'm occasionally a catalyst when the team needs to just get something done. I'm also willing to help wherever needed and provide clarity of thought. Since I don't know how things have been done in the past, I'm able to come up with new solutions to problems.
What is your role during the race?
Officially I'm software systems strategist on the race. This involves helping with telemetry and monitoring the current status of the car. I'm also one of the drivers for Ra 7. The real work comes at night, however, in getting camp and dinner set up for everyone before it gets dark!
What else do you do for the team when you are not racing?
There are always business tasks to accomplish, from thanking our wonderful donors to arranging outreach events in the community. As a member of the body team, I always love to help with any modifications on the car as well!
What is one hobby that you have?
I love to go kayaking and backpacking. The taller the mountain, the better! I love picking difficult challenges that stretch me to the limit of what I can do...that's probably one of the many reasons why I love solar car!
