I live in the Grants Pass, Oregon, where I work as an electrician for my family's electrical contracting business.

What are 2 of the best qualities you bring to the team?
Two qualities that I bring to the team are the ability to find solutions to unique problems, and to exhibit calmness in my thought and action. In solar car racing, the most important thing to remember is to work together and find the right solutions and keep the car running as smoothly as possible.
What is your role during the race?
My role on the team is to monitor and maintain the electrical systems of the car. This includes management of the battery pack, implementing new electronics, and troubleshooting problems that arise. As one of the team leaders, I help manage the team in the way that will best glorify God and show our best effort. I also serve as one of the drivers for the team.
What else do you do for the team when you are not racing?
While not racing, a lot of time is spent improving upon the various systems of the car, especially having to do with the battery management systems and telemetry systems. As the electrical leader, I work closely with others to design, build, and update these systems.
What is one hobby that you have?
I have played the string bass for over 13 years, and enjoy whitewater rafting.
